Over the months i will add info to make Black Powder less scary.  Please, I am no expert. Always be safe,  Black powder, other like any powder, can be dangerous.

Here's the long and short of it;

a) use a standard primer

B) fill the casing to within 1/8 " of top with powder

C) stuff in bullet

TaDA a loaded case!

But, it will be a little stout.

And if its real black, the bullet should have lube on it.

Types:

Black powder for SASS can be broken into two catagories:

True Black, mostly salt peter and charchoal w/sulfer. KIK, Goex,elephant, swiss and many more.

and

Substitutes. synthetic black. American Pioneer powder( APP), 777,black mag, and more. All powders have different energy. The APP     (American Pioneer ) Is a good choice. Not too stout.
